GLC Staff


Patti L. Smith is the Director of Greenway Learning Center.  Patti holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.  Patti began her career with G.L.C. in October 1993 as Center Director.  Patti’s previous work experience includes lifeguard, camp counselor, Pre-school teacher, Assistant Director and Director of both corporate and privately owned child care centers.  Patti is credentialed at level 6 with MSDE and is a member of the Prince Georges Child  Resource Center.

Linda Valladares is the Assistant Director at GLC.  Linda joined GLC in October 2016 as a toddler teacher and in 2019 was promoted to Assistant Director.  She started her career in child care back in 2008.  She has earned certifications in Infants and Toddlers and in Preschool.  Linda is credentialed at a level 4 with MSDE and is currently working on obtaining her CDA.  In her free time Linda enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, watching movies , shopping, beach trips and traveling.

Janice Clark joined GLC in July 2012 as our lead Infant Teacher.  Janice has her 90 hour Child Care Certification and her 45 hour Infant and Toddler training.   Janice has over 15 years experience working with young children and is the proud mother of two children and the dotting grandmother of three.   Janice is credentialed through MSDE at a level 3.

Deanna Bell Joined GLC August 2023.  She graduated from Forestville Military Academy in 2010 and  received her 90 hour child care certification from Prince Georges Community College.  She is currently completing her Infant/Toddler CDA.  In addition to raising 3 children of her own she has 2 years experience working in child care.   Deanna enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

Saliha Ahmad has been working with GLC’s two years old since September 2022. She graduated from College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI majoring in Illustration but her love for working with children and over three years experience in child care brought her to GLC.   Saliha is MSDE credentialed at Level 1.  In her free time  Saliha loves to travel and watch sci-fi movies.

Tyla Bell joined GLC’s preschool program the summer of 2023.  She started her childcare career while attending Potomac High School graduating in 2021.  Tyla is currently pursuing her CDA in Preschool certification.  Tyla is a proud Prince Georges County girl and enjoys spending time in the area with family and friends.  Tyla’s free time is spent with her young son watching Mickey Mouse, singing the ABC’s and eating kiddie snacks in between naps.
